If ever there was a product that cried out for an Amazon video review, it's Clocky. This thing is so much fun to play with. It sounds like R2 D2 from Star Wars, and after the first time you hit the snooze alarm it jumps off the table or nightstand and runs around the room a beepin' and a flashin'. You can see it works pretty well on the carpeting and it moves even faster on our tile floors. It can jump down from up to 3 feet without killing itself which is more than you need for most nightstands. I don't know if you can see from the video, but it's made pretty well and seems sturdy.

I bought it for my sister who thinks it's cute during the day but doesn't like chasing it in the morning. I tried to capture her on video, chasing clock in a real live morning situation, but her words were "unkind" and not suitable for an Amazon review.

This makes a cute gift for the person who has everything but likes to sleep. I hope this video gives you a better idea of how cute this thing is. (Sorry for all the jiggling around. I really have to get a camera with some kind of stabilization feature).

I've acquired quite a collection of alarm clocks over the years in the search for the perfect one. And while Clocky isn't perfect, it is definitely the best one I've seen so far.

1. The alarm tone is adorable and (most importantly) somewhat random. Unlike the traditional Casio or Timex alarms, which sound like fire alarms, Clocky sounds like R2D2 going crazy. I hate all alarm clock sounds with a passion, but somehow I haven't been able to fall in hate with clocky. That sound is just too darned cute (and somewhat random, which helps).

2. The actual running around functionality is a little gimmocky but effective. The thing is, clocky doesn't run until after you've snoozed once, so you have incentive to get up (this can be configured from 10 to 0 minutes, thus effectively immediately buzzing and running). But overall, it works. Clocky runs until he gets stuck on a wall or a discarded bit of clothing, and makes a bunch of noise. You've got to figure out where he went and drag him back.

While I had imagined some sort of light hop to the ground, Clocky actually lands on the ground with a resounding thud. It does have 4 batteries in it. I once accidentally put clocky on the dresser over my bed, and woke to a 3 pound alarm clock falling 4 feet onto my chest. While this little thing feels hugely sturdy for an alarm clock, I can't imagine clocky would be too happy long term if you put it up more than 3 feet off the ground and had hardwood floors. Still, It's probably more safe to throw across the room than most alarm clocks.

3. They've also fixed a lot of the little problems with most clock interfaces. For one the buttons are easy to press and interact with. Changing the time isn't a tedius experience, as the key repeat rate is much faster and more responsive than most clocks. Otherwise, it's press a button, get a response, with a clean and simple UI. The only unintuitive function was setting the snooze time (hold down the alarm time), but otherwise the UI is beautiful.

There are two problems, though they don't quite detract enough to drop the a full 5 star score.

1. The button to turn off the alarm is simple and easy enough to press that the first few weeks I found myself pressing it accidentally every now and then, thus turning off the alarm.

2. If you have a cluttered landing site, Clocky may turn himself off as he jumps. If he lands just right (or, well, somewhat right) he'll hit that aforementioned button himself, and shut down.

Overall, of the 12 alarm clocks I currently own, Clocky is the only one I still use on a daily basis. If you hate conventional alarm clocks, I recommend trying this one. So far for me it has been great.

Have very small phone alarm clock

Cool features; really liked it and used it about two weeks fine but then began receiving an error about it not operating properly, force close, etc., on my kindle; uninstalled it and downloaded another copy as it was free but the error notice continued to appear and I finally removed it and installed another. Again, neat features and others may not get the error. My kindle is the first gen fire if that is relevant.Very accurate and loud enough to wake me up. Alarm Clock

This app is free, and it works. And there's no problem figuring out how to set it. Peace of mind when you have to get up early.

This alarm clock works fine and allows me to use my Kindle as the alarm, right next to my bed. It got 4 stars because there's a pop up that keeps urging me to upgrade, which i don't want to do.

You need to switch Kindle on before switching alarm off. App should do this automatically when alarm starts. I like the view and the weather.

Love it! Just the right size for my kindle and phone. Would definitely recommend this for everyone's devices.

good free alarm clock that i used to wake up every 2-3 hours to make sure my wife was awake to feed our newborn. it give you the option of starting the alarm softly and then slowly increases the volume so that you wake up thinking you just woke up on your own. then you notice the alarm after you're awake.

Ok so I purchased this based on one of the reviews and it's ok I mean some of the voices are better than others. The reviews warned me... but for my 12 year old, I thought it would help get him up in the morning! It doesn't wake him up until it has gone through it's annoying "saying" at least 8-10 times! If you have a heavy sleeper, you are better off with the loud, obnoxious bell alarm!

Great Alarm, never fails to wake me up on time. The funny phrases are amazing for a morning smile. The only drawback is the volume, hope it was louder.

The clock is cute with all it's funny sayings but if your a sound sleeper, this alarm will NOT wake you up!

Bought this for my 10-year old son and he thought the voices were hilarious! But, the alarm itself is not very loud even when set on the highest volume level so it's pretty ineffective as an alarm clock. Though, it scares the daylights out of the cat (who sleeps on the bed with him) and the cat going bananas was occasionally enough to wake him up for school. Had to purchase a different alarm clock but we're keeping this one just for fun.

My kids started elementary school and need to get up very early so we bought this alarm clock to help make it a little easier for them. They love it! The funny voices make us smile each morning, and that it shakes make even more noise to wake them. They share a room so they actually take turns shutting it off each morning. So far the batteries have been going strong (I didn't realize when I purchased that it is battery operated).

Bought this as a birthday gift for my husband. And then my 9yo daughter appropriated it! She loves the different voices, accents and sayings. It is totally annoying, as any good alarm clock should be. All phrases are appropriate for all ages. Sure makes waking up in the morning alot more fun.

My first-grader has been begging for an alarm clock and he is going to love this one at Christmas! It has several funny sayings that are clear to understand and appropriate if he decides to mimic them, and I'm sure he will. All the sayings I listened to are in a male voice - just an observation. The only drawbacks are that it is not very loud and it requires batteries. Otherwise, it is a fun way to wake up.I was always trying to get my son out of bed and ready for school on time. I bought this and we have no problems. It "talks" to him and shakes all over his bed to get him up. Half the fun is hiding it in his covers for an extra surprise.

My only downsize is some of the language is not for younger ears. There were a couple of phrases I was less than thrilled with but my son doesn't seem to be using them so I've learned to pick my battles. Definitely consider it for 6 years and up.
